I’m taking the week off of Twitter, but my followers continue to grow. I’ve had to spend some time figuring out CSS and other website issues, not to mention more problems with Twitterfeed. With the Genesis Rocket course, my accounts have mostly targeted followers, so they seem to automatically find more as time goes by. This is time well spent; once I pin down the problems with my RSS feeds, I should get reasonable results from my Genesis Rocket marketing.

My website earnings are down due to a lack of new posts, problems with RSS feeds, and problems with Adsense. I can’t earn very well if my links don’t go out half of the week! Some technical trouble at home, too, but that is the beauty of working at home; problems don’t have to completely keep me away from work. I did get my Genesis Rocket stuff done, so the network was built for another week regardless of the marketing issues. At least I know the hits are there when I can provide quality content.
That aside – nearly 10,000 followers! And those are mostly targeted, and not a big pile of zombie accounts. When the numbers hit, they are gonna hit big.
Ahh, a glass of cold milk, a handful of Oreos, my laptop, and the baby monitor all snuggled next to me in my bed with lots of fluffy pillows and soft blankets. Yep, it is time for my workday! And Fridays are always fun, with Follow Fridays on Twitter. A nice and relaxing Friday at work for a couple of hours. Meanwhile, my husband is out shopping for a new car!
I seem to be hitting a new problem every few days. I spend a day figuring out how to use a website or new tool, then they turn around and revamp the whole thing. Now Twitter Karma is broken, because Twitter has blocked it. It is so hard to see your followers and who you are following on the Twitter interface! So I used another website to unfollow people, and what should have taken me five minutes ended up a two-hour affair.
I have to rethink my strategy on how I will spend my time. My website may have to take a back seat until I get my Twitter following where I want it, and I’ll just promote Genesis Rocket in the meantime.

Wow. This Genesis Rocket thing was much easier. If only Technorati hadn’t decided to dump a day’s worth of work; I lost all of my carefully researched blogs.
I have been busy with getting the new website and blog set up for two weeks, now. Traffic seems to be picking up gradually. I’ve gotten a better handle on the Twitter stuff, finally, so it didn’t take quite as long for me to grow followers this week.
Today I delved into a number of things that I had no clue on. I registered my own domain, paid for hosting, set up email accounts, played around with DNS servers (accidentally deleted my own DNS once), installed WordPress, and figured out that nobody cares about HTML anymore. It is all about php, css, and something called XML. The internet sure has come a long way since I used a packet server to send messages from mountaintop to mountaintop back in the early 80s. Now, you do something called tweeting?
I feel like one of those baby birds. I’m tweeting in hopes that someone will hear me and come feed me.
I am a total Twitter Newbie. Sure, I’ve heard of Twitter, but I couldn’t figure out what it would do for me. I was perfectly happy with text messages on my phone.
With the help of Genesis Rocket, I figured out how to set up my Twitter account, make it look nice, tweak it up correctly, and get all my links in the right places. I also learned what retweet meant. (That’s baby bird #2 and #3 saying, yeah, what HE said!)
I wonder how long I’ll tweet before momma bird finally turns around to feed me?
